Alaa Abousaif, MD
Principal Investigator
Alaa Abousaif, MD is a board-certified internist, gastroenterologist, and obesity medicine specialist with nearly 20 years of experience in private practice. He is known for delivering expert, patient-centered care in digestive health, liver disease, and weight management.
Dr. Abousaif earned his medical degree from University of Damascus Faculty of Medicine and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Wright State University, followed by a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Georgetown University. He holds active board certifications in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Obesity Medicine.
Dr. Abousaif is committed to serving a diverse patient population with compassion and cultural sensitivity. He is affiliated with National Ambulatory Surgery Center and St. Joseph Hospital, where he provides outpatient care.
In addition to his practice, Dr. Abousaif is actively involved in clinical research and has served as a principal investigator in numerous trials related to liver disease, fatty liver (NASH), inflammatory bowel disease, and other gastrointestinal conditions. His dedication to advancing medicine through research helps bring innovative therapies to the patients who need them most. Dr. Abousaif has developed an outstanding reputation not only as a gastroenterologist but also as a dedicated Principal Investigator.
